The solution is available if you dig through the forums but I thought I’d post it here for easier reference :-) . It tries to look up the error on the FAQ of the Foxytunes site, but finds nothing, the thing it looks for is “failed-xpcom-install”. This must be a debian/iceweasel issue as I can’t imagine it’s broken for every linux user.

  1. Find the dir the extension installed itself in, one way is to do
    find .mozilla/ -name "FoxyTunes.dll".
    In that dir, make sure that it’s using the linux version of the dll
    cp FoxyTunes.dll.linux FoxyTunes.dll
  2. Now delete the following files from your profile dir, compreg.dat and xpti.dat.
  3. Restart Iceweasel and Foxytunes should now work.

Get rid of those pesky adverts, everyone already has this one installed I’m sure. The updater keeps my block list up to date for me :-) .

Tabbrowser preferences
Preference options for tab settings that should be in the main firefox IMO.

Bookmarks Synchronizer
Upload/download bookmarks from a FTP or HTTP server. Useful if running firefox on multiple machines. Now that I have most of my bookmarks in del.icio.us I’m thinking of ditching this one though.

del.icio.us
Not the best interface to del.icio.us, I’d prefer foxylicious if it added bundle support, but it does the job.

Reminderfox
Stops me from forgetting people’s birthdays.

Linkification
Turn text into clickable links.

Tab History
When opening a link in a new tab, make that new tab inherit the history from the source tab.

Download Embedded
No more scanning through page source to find the address to download those embedded videos.

FlashGot
And finally, pass off downloads to a proper download manager rather than trying to use firefoxes dodgy download support (resume never seems to work for me in it).
