I just upgraded Foxytunes to the latest version (2.2.5) and it broke again (it was broke when I first installed it). The solution is available if you dig through the forums but I thought I’d post it here for easier reference
. It tries to look up the error on the FAQ of the Foxytunes site, but finds nothing, the thing it looks for is “failed-xpcom-install”. This must be a debian/iceweasel issue as I can’t imagine it’s broken for every linux user.
- Find the dir the extension installed itself in, one way is to do
find .mozilla/ -name "FoxyTunes.dll".
In that dir, make sure that it’s using the linux version of the dll
cp FoxyTunes.dll.linux FoxyTunes.dll - Now delete the following files from your profile dir,
compreg.datandxpti.dat. - Restart Iceweasel and Foxytunes should now work.
